A standard cast-in-place concrete pedestrian paving assembly is placed over a compacted Class 2 aggregate base and compacted subgrade. The five-inch thick concrete slab is reinforced with number four rebar spaced at twelve inches on center both ways, maintained with a three-inch clearance. The assembly features an expansion joint and a scored control joint with eased exposed edges. The finish grade is held one-half inch below the paving surface.
