An inline threaded isolation valve is connected to Schedule 80 PVC mainline piping using Schedule 80 PVC female adaptors and threaded nipples on both sides. Schedule 80 PVC unions with appropriately sized nipples are installed adjacent to the valve to allow clearance for removing the union nuts. The entire assembly sits on a bed of three-quarter-inch washed gravel inside a ten-inch round valve box, which is supported by precast concrete pavers at finish grade. A two-inch Class 200 PVC sleeve is installed over the brass isolation valve when it is buried at a depth of eighteen inches or greater.
