Typical half-inch drip tubing connects via compression fittings and transfer barb tees to distribute water to trees and shrubs. Emitters are placed three-quarters of the distance between the trunk and the outer dripline, evenly spaced around the plant. Typical quarter-inch distribution tubing runs up to forty-eight inches in maximum length from the transfer tees to tube stakes with emitters or caps. The drip tubing is staked at each tee, ell, coupler, emitter, or transfer point, and at a maximum spacing of six feet on center.
