The tree planting pit features a root ball diameter sized two and a half to three times the container width with a depth matching the root ball. A root barrier measuring sixteen feet by thirty-six inches is installed around the pit alongside a root watering system. The tree is secured with two tree stakes and ties attached to the trunk. A water basin and soil berm are formed at the finish grade surrounding the tree.
