An irrigation trench houses a PVC main line at a minimum depth of 18 inches and PVC laterals at 12 inches minimum below the finished surface. The trench is bedded and backfilled with approved material free of rocks or debris larger than 1 inch in diameter, ensuring no hard objects contact the pipe walls directly. Valve wires run alongside the piping within the backfill zone. The surface finish consists of topsoil placed per the planting plan and capped with a layer of mulch.
