An isolation ball valve matches the size of the PVC main line and connects using schedule 80 threaded nipples and adapters. The entire assembly sits inside a ten-by-fifteen-inch rectangular box with a six-inch extension, set flush to grade. Two six-by-two-by-sixteen concrete block caps support the base with a one-half-inch wire cloth gopher screen wrapped up the sides. Teflon tape is applied to all threaded pipe connections, and the valve box lid is branded with the respective irrigation component.
