A reinforced concrete paving assembly rests on a sand layer and crushed aggregate base. Pedestrian paving requires a six-inch-thick slab reinforced with number four rebar at eighteen inches on center each way, while vehicular paving requires a seven-inch-thick slab reinforced with number four rebar at twelve inches on center each way. Subgrade compaction, crushed aggregate base, and over excavation are provided per the geotechnical report. A two-inch sand layer is positioned directly beneath the concrete slab. Sawcut and expansion joints are installed per specifications, and dowels are provided where new concrete ties into existing slabs.
