Groundcover planting is arranged in a tri-space equilateral pattern at specified on-center distances. The edge of the groundcover area or walk edge is positioned at one-half of the specified on-center spacing from the outermost plant row. Plants are set into the soil bed with a layer of mulch placed over the finished grade, keeping the mulch clear of the plant crown. Soil is tilled to eliminate clods or clumps larger than one and a half inches in diameter.
