Proper installation depth and surface alignment for decorative landscape boulders relative to finish grade. Three-quarters to two-thirds of the boulder height remains unburied above the subgrade, while one-quarter to one-third is embedded below grade. A layer of finish grade mulch surrounds the base of the rock at the surface transition line.
