A three-inch flanged hydrometer in a normally closed configuration is housed within a standard eighteen-inch deep valve box with an extension, set flush with the finish grade. The main irrigation line connects to the assembly using schedule 80 PVC threaded nipples and female threaded adapters on both sides, joined by flanged fittings matching the valve and mainline sizes. The valve box rests on a concrete paver over three inches of compacted gravel and six-inch concrete masonry unit blocks. Waterproof connections join the flow sensor cable and system wires running in conduit, complete with thirty inches of coiled wire from the controller.
