An underground valve box with a standard cover sits flush with the finish grade and top of mulch, housing an irrigation control assembly over a 4-inch minimum depth of 3/4-inch washed gravel. The assembly connects to a mainline pipe via a PVC Schedule 80 close nipple and a PVC Schedule 40 tee or ell. A PVC Schedule 80 nipple with a 2-inch length and PVC Schedule 40 ell route upward to a 1-inch ball valve, a waterproof connection with a decoder linking to detail sheet L3.3, an ID tag, a remote control valve, and a pressure regulating quick check basket filter. Downstream flow exits through a PVC Schedule 40 female adaptor into a lateral pipe supported by PVC Schedule 80 nipples and elbows.
