An isolation valve connects to the water supply line via a schedule 80 PVC fitting with a threaded outlet, three-quarter-inch galvanized street elbows, and a three-quarter-inch galvanized nipple with a four-inch minimum length. A three-quarter-inch brass drain valve with a slotted top receives a two-inch schedule 40 PVC pipe notched over the valve, extending upward to grade. The entire valve assembly rests within a gravel sump filled with three-quarter-inch washed gravel, surrounded by filter fabric and supported at the base by precast concrete pavers of standard brick size. A ten-inch round valve box encloses the vertical pipe extension up to the finish grade, with green lids specified for lawn areas and tan lids for planting beds.
