The landing beam connects to the outer stringer using a knife plate positioned on the back side of the C-channel with three-quarter-inch through bolts and a three-quarter-inch plate. A shear plate is provided at each end of the landing with a one-and-a-half-inch clearance. An L3x3x5/16 angle by zero-foot-nine-inches long ties into the assembly with a three-sixteenths weld. An L4x4x3/8 angle with two three-quarter-inch through bolts secures the plate girder joint. A twelve-gauge pan closure with a one-eighth weld finishes the riser interface.
