An eight-inch by sixteen-gauge joist is suspended by four-inch by sixteen-gauge hangers on each side, secured with five number ten self-tapping metal screws at each joist-to-hanger connection. The assembly is supported by a three-by-three by five-sixteenths angle measuring ten inches long, connected with two half-inch diameter A325 bolts spaced at six inches on center, or alternatively welded with a three-sixteenths fillet weld. The angle is welded to the supporting steel beam web with a three-sixteenths fillet weld typically on both sides, offset one and three-quarter inches from the centerline.
