An in-line drip emitter is installed on a lateral irrigation line buried two to four inches below the surface within a layer of topsoil and capped with mulch. The lateral line and emitter are secured in place using a wire staple or stake spaced at a maximum of ten feet on center. A note specifies that no dripline shall be visible on the surface.
