An angle-style manual drain valve is installed at irrigation mainline low points to facilitate complete system drainage. The assembly sits within double round or rectangular PVC valve boxes bolted back-to-back, with a minimum twenty-four-inch depth. A one-inch by three-inch protective PVC nipple and a one-inch schedule eighty PVC close nipple connect the valve to a mainline reducing tee with slip by female pipe thread ends. The entire unit rests over a minimum two cubic foot bed of three-eighths-inch pea gravel functioning as a drainage sump.
