A vine planting assembly features a rootball set within an excavated plant pit sized to twice the width and twice the height of the rootball. The sides and bottom of the pit are roughened, filled with backfill, and supplemented with Agriform tabs per specifications. A three-inch mulch layer covers the top of the pit. The vine is secured to a trellis, wall, or screen using garden ties placed at eight- to twelve-inch intervals.
