Irrigation drip tubing is laid out with enough slack to enable manipulating emitters in the field. One emitter is placed on the rootball for one-gallon containers or smaller. Two emitters are placed on the rootball for five-gallon containers. Three emitters are placed on the rootball for fifteen-gallon containers.
