A tree is installed on an existing slope within a excavated root ball zone surrounded by vertical support stakes. A level watering basin sits at the base of the trunk, finished with a two to four inch earth berm sized for five gallon or larger plants per standard detail. The surrounding slope surface is covered with rock or bark mulch placed over a geotextile fabric underlayment.
