An athletic field surface profile consists of a six-inch layer of infield mix installed over a three-inch layer of coarse sand, supported by a compacted subgrade. The subgrade is compacted to ninety-five percent dry density per civil engineering specifications. A subdrain pipe is embedded within the profile with specified clearances and bedding angles.
