A compacted decomposed granite path sits at a three-inch minimum depth over a four-inch minimum aggregate base and compacted subgrade. A metal edge restrains the path material, held down half an inch from the top of the metal edge and concrete paving. Geotextile fabric underlies the aggregate base and extends beneath adjacent mulch areas. The assembly transitions directly to existing concrete paving on one side and mulch beds on the other.
