A vehicular unit paver assembly is installed over a sand setting bed and compacted aggregate sub-base. The paving surface consists of concrete unit pavers with butt joints swept with sand. A reinforced concrete header restrains the edge of the paver field, set flush with a 2-inch clearance to the adjacent finished grade in the planter. Geotextile fabric separates the aggregate sub-base from the underlying compacted subgrade.
