This concrete paving expansion joint assembly incorporates a pre-molded joint filler extending to the full depth of the slab between adjacent concrete placements. A foam backer rod is installed directly below the finish surface to control sealant depth and profile. Mastic sealant, with color to be selected, is applied at the finish surface to seal the joint against moisture infiltration. Notes require the structural engineer to confirm slab thickness, rebar size, and spacing, as well as the need for an aggregate subbase over compacted subgrade or CU-structural soil.
