A root watering system is installed adjacent to a plant root ball set below the finish grade and top of mulch. The assembly incorporates a Rain Bird RWS-B-C-1404 root watering system featuring a 36-inch tube, a 1 gallon-per-minute bubbler with an integrated check valve, a 4-inch locking grate, and a 12-inch swing assembly with a 1/2-inch male NPT inlet. The unit connects to PVC schedule 40 tees or elbows and PVC or polyethylene lateral pipe. A 4-inch wide by 36-inch long rigid basket weave canister extends down into the soil, with an optional RWS-sock available for sandy soils.
