A cold-formed steel stud or joist connects to a vertical framing member with a typical coped flange secured by three number ten sheet metal screws to each stud. A continuous four-inch by eighteen-gauge C-stud is anchored above with two number eight sheet metal screws to each stud or joist where required. Stud and joist sizes and spacings are determined per structural plans.
