This concrete mow strip and edge band consists of a 20 MPa concrete band measuring 150 millimeters by 150 millimeters, reinforced with number 13 continuous rebar and detailed with a tooled control joint at 1500 lineal millimeters on center. A 12.70 millimeter thick bituminous expansion joint is provided at changes in direction and wherever the edging abuts rigid pavement. The concrete curb sits on prepared subgrade adjacent to a grassed area with a 25 millimeter clearance, bordered on the opposite side by gravel mulch laid over landscape weed barrier fabric.
