This connection details a lag screw with an unthreaded shank passing through a steel side plate into wood framing. A standard washer sits beneath the lag screw head bearing on the steel plate. The unthreaded shank must be positioned at the steel and wood interface. Lead holes are predrilled for both the shank and threads. Thread length per detail requires a minimum of four times the bolt diameter, excluding the tip length.
