A standard tree planting and staking assembly includes an elevation section and plan view. The tree rootball rests on native subgrade and is surrounded by amended backfill mix, topped with a mulch layer and a watering berm. Two lodgepole stakes are driven into the native subgrade outside the rootball edge and secured to the tree trunk with black plastic cinch-ties. The imaginary line between stakes and tree is oriented perpendicular to the prevailing wind direction.
