An underground irrigation valve box installation featuring a specified rectangular valve box with its lid installed flush with the finish grade. The assembly houses an automatic control valve with a pressure regulating dial, a commercial grade PVC ball valve, and PVC unions on either side of the valve for maintenance access. The valve box is supported by four bricks set over a minimum two cubic foot drain rock sump with twelve inches of depth at the bottom of the box. A one-inch minimum clearance is maintained between the valve box and the pipe. Twenty-four-inch control wire and spare wire coils are housed inside the box along with specified splice kits, and control and spare wires are taped to the bottom of the mainline. The PVC lateral pipe exits the box maintaining specified lateral line burial depth.
