A cast-in-place concrete curb bears on a concrete footing or subgrade with embedded reinforcing steel. A spacer or anchor connects the curb to the adjacent aggregate sub-base and soil layers, which support a surface planting layer. The total height of the assembly varies with a twelve-inch dimension typical for the upper portion. The footing width ranges from twelve to eighteen inches sized per plan with three-inch minimum extensions.
