A cold-formed steel top track splice connection uses a twelve-inch-long nested stud segment matching the track width at fifty-four mils minimum thickness. Six number ten self-tapping metal screws are fastened to each side of the splice. The screw layout includes a one-inch end distance and five equal spaces across the twelve-inch splice length.
