A layered soil profile for stormwater areas features a one-foot six-inch depth of growing medium above a drain layer and liner. The growing medium consists of an approved mix sitting on top of a drainage and material layer specified per civil drawings. A liner separates the drainage layer from the existing subsoil below. Finish grade sits at the top of the growing medium layer.
