A head-of-wall slip track connection designed to accommodate structural deflection. A minimum 16-gauge slip track with 2-inch deep slotted legs features slots spaced at 1 inch on center. The track secures to the overhead concrete structure using powder-driven fasteners spaced at 16 inches on center with a 1 1/2-inch minimum embedment. Metal studs insert into the track with a three-quarter-inch gap maintained at the top for vertical movement. Number 8 or number 10 sheet metal screws with standoff washers or wafer heads fasten each side at the center of the 1-inch slots. At jamb conditions, a 3/8-inch diameter Hilti KB3 anchor with a 2 1/2-inch embedment anchors the assembly at the concrete flutes.
