A pop-up spray head connects to a Schedule 40 polyvinyl chloride tee or elbow on a lateral irrigation line, with the top of the spray head set flush to finish grade. A swing joint links the assembly to the lateral line, and all Schedule 40 to Schedule 80 polyvinyl chloride connections are sealed using Teflon tape. Six-inch pop-up spray heads with check valves are installed in turf areas, and the surrounding soil is settled after installation.
