A five-eighths-inch by eight-foot copper grounding rod is driven vertically into the earth below finished grade and pavement. A number 6 AWG bare copper wire connects to the top of the rod using a grounding rod clamp and routes into a one-inch PVC electrical conduit and sweep for earth ground. The rod and clamp assembly are housed within a ten-inch round valve box with a locking lid, set over a minimum three-inch depth of three-quarter-inch washed gravel at the base. The wire maintains a twenty-four-inch minimum wire depth below grade.
