An interior partition wall terminates at a vertical mullion with an L-metal transition covered by paintable tape matched to the adjacent wall color. A backer rod and continuous fire sealant are applied at the mullion extension below, using neoprene for non-rated conditions. Fire safing with continuous fire sealant spans the entire length of the mullion at the edge of the slab. An interior mullion snap-on cap extension runs the entire width of the room over the vertical mullion containing insulation.
