Flooring transition between carpet and either porcelain tile or resilient flooring using a Schluter Schiene-AE satin anodized aluminum metal transition strip. The transition strip is anchored in a thin-set mortar bed and positioned so that the profile faces away from the carpet and abuts the resilient or tile flooring. The profile is completely filled with thin-set mortar, and carpet is floated or leveled as necessary to avoid abrupt changes in height. Flooring transitions are specified to occur at the center of the door leaf unless noted otherwise.
