An air relief valve connects to a polyvinyl chloride schedule eighty riser fitted with a schedule forty female adapter, mounted onto a schedule forty tee at a high point in the PVC header pipe. The entire valve and riser assembly sits within a subterranean emitter box, flush with finish grade and bedded on a minimum three-inch depth of three-quarter-inch washed gravel.
