A recessed cabinet or equipment opening framed within both non-rated and fire-rated metal stud partitions. Openings are constructed with double studs around the perimeter and finished with metal corner trim. Non-rated partitions utilize standard gypsum board finishes, while rated partitions incorporate five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum board backed by a one-inch gypsum core board. Twenty-gauge sheet metal angles line the sides, with J-channel installed at the top and bottom of the opening.
