Metal stud intersections and corners utilize three metal studs tied together with number eight sheet metal screws at sixteen inches on center into each other stud, aligning with the boundary line of gypsum board. Horizontal bridging is secured at each stud along each bridging line using an L one-and-a-half by one-and-a-half by sixteen gauge clip fastened with four number ten screws as indicated. Bridging splices overlap by six inches with two number ten screws spaced at four inches. Sizing for horizontal bridging requires two-and-a-half-inch by sixteen gauge members with half-inch flanges for six-inch studs, or one-and-a-half-inch by sixteen gauge members with half-inch flanges for three-and-five-eighths-inch or four-inch studs.
