Multiple pipes or conduits pass through a scheduled partition wall outfitted with a metal sleeve provided by the trade of the penetrating item. The annular joint receives a one-half inch minimum to one-inch maximum fill of fire safing per manufacturer requirements to maintain required fire ratings. Acoustical sealant is applied to seal the joint without diminishing the fire safing effect. The gap around the metal sleeve is filled with drywall fire code compound, then taped and sanded to form a complete seal to the drywall.
