The interior partition head terminates below a DLT structural deck with a compensation slip track secured by screws. A continuous one-quarter by one-half inch black closed-cell acoustic tape is applied at non-rated walls, while a one-half inch fire-rated sealant is used at rated walls. Metal J-trim is installed at the top of the wall finish on each side. The wall framing is secured at each side but left unsecured to the slip track to accommodate deflection.
