An air relief valve is installed at high points in the drip zone on a PVC schedule 80 riser connected to a PVC schedule 40 tee on the PVC header pipe. A subterranean emitter box houses the valve assembly, flush with the finish grade. A PVC schedule 40 female adapter joins the valve to the riser. The entire assembly rests on a minimum depth of three inches of three-quarter-inch washed gravel.
