Metal strap blocking is installed between studs and attached with two screws to each stud, with splices located at blocking. Intermittent blocking is placed at the ends of the wall and at eight feet on center, using the same gauge as the studs. Where gypsum board occurs on only one side, a strap is provided at the side without gypsum board, and where gypsum board occurs on both sides, straps are provided on both sides of the stud. Lateral bridging is spaced at maximum intervals of two feet six inches and three feet six inches vertically.
