A vertical 162S137-33 cold-formed steel compression strut connects to an overhead post-tensioned concrete slab using an L3x3 angle of sixteen gauge steel measuring three inches long secured with two 0.145-inch diameter powder-driven fasteners having a three-quarter-inch maximum embedment. The bottom of the strut bears on the ceiling grid system featuring cross tees spaced at two feet on center and main runners spaced at four feet on center. Three number 8 screws secure the economy ceiling clip to the framing. Twelve gauge brace wires spaced at eight feet on center each way provide lateral stabilization and attach at a maximum angle of forty-five degrees to the plane of the ceiling parallel to the structural framing.
