A gate valve is installed on a schedule 80 PVC mainline using schedule 80 PVC male adapters. The valve is enclosed within a six-inch PVC pipe sleeve surrounded by four inches of pea gravel with no soil in the box. A ten-inch round plastic valve box with a bolt-down lid sits atop the assembly, terminating at finish grade with a total of two bricks for support. The lid is positioned flush with the lawn or one inch above shrub and groundcover areas.
