A pop-up spray head or bubbler is mounted flush with the finish grade atop a Schedule 40 PVC tee or elbow. A swing joint connects the body to the lateral irrigation line. All pop-up spray heads are specified with check valves, and six-inch units are used in turf areas. Threaded connections between Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 PVC are sealed with teflon tape, and soil is compacted around the fixture after installation.
