A scheduled light fixture or slot diffuser is installed within a concealed framing system and surrounded by an acoustic plaster ceiling assembly. The fixture features a manufacturer mud-in flange fastened to furring channels behind the ceiling plane. Base and finish coats of acoustic plaster are applied flush up to the fixture edge per the manufacturer instructions. Stud framing sits beyond the immediate ceiling suspension system.
