An electrical outlet box or junction box is set into a scheduled acoustical partition with continuous acoustical insulation filling the stud cavity. A resilient pad wraps around the outlet box to mitigate sound transmission. Continuous acoustical sealant is applied at the perimeter of the box where it meets the gypsum board wall finish to maintain the sound rating of the partition.
