The pop-up spray head connects to a lateral irrigation line through a swing joint and a Schedule 40 PVC tee or elbow, with the top of the spray head set level with the finish grade. A spray nozzle or bubbler mounts to the top of the pop-up body, and check valves are required on all units. Schedule 40 to Schedule 80 PVC connections are sealed using Teflon tape. Four-inch pop-ups are specified for turf areas, and the contractor must settle the soil around the pop-up after installation.
